Radiologists

Radiologists specialize in creating and interpreting pictures of areas inside the body. The pictures are produced with x-rays, sound waves or other types of energy and allow radiologists to study internal organs and bones. It is common for many people to have experienced x-rays to detect broken bones, but medical imaging tests can also be very helpful in identifying areas inside the body that may be suspicious for cancer. If someone is diagnosed with cancer, further tests such as CT scans and bone scans may offer information about whether it has spread.
