At Martha Jefferson Hospital, you have an entire team of people ensuring you receive the specialized care you need, from your physicians to your nurses, to the radiation therapists working behind the scenes to ensure you receive the personalized treatment you came for.
If you undergo radiation therapy, you will also meet our highly trained radiation therapists who work directly with the radiation oncologist to assist in the simulation (planning) of patients in preparation for their treatment and/or to administer daily radiation treatments according to the physician's directions and prescription.
At Martha Jefferson, we only employ certified radiation therapists. These are highly trained individuals that must complete an approved radiation therapy program and pass a national registry through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in order to practice in the field. Additionally, all certified Radiation therapists are required by the ARRT to acquire continuing education credits, ensuring that your therapists are up to date with the latest technologies and treatments.
